Ogun state is in the southwestern Nigeria. Created in 1976, it borders Lagos State to the south, Oyo and Osun states to the North, Ondo to the east and the Republic of Benin to the West, Ogun State has about 10million population and expands up to Ikorodu, Shomolu, Epe, Ilupeju and Lekki in Lagos Nigeria.

As the election year draws nearer, political heavy weights have began permutation on how to clinch their party’s ticket to run for 2019 leading them to Oke Mosan top job.
Unlike in the previous years where it was easy for candidates to be anointed, the 2019 election pose to be different because of crisis in most of the parties.
For instance, the leading opposition party PDP has been broken into two, Sheriff’s faction who is fighting tooth and nail to remain the Supreme party chairman will produce candidates should court judgement favour him, Makarfi is also spoiling for war by establishing a factional party called APDA.
In APC, the incumbent governor of Ogun State, Mr Ibikunle Amosun will want to have his successor using all his connections to Buhari and Aso Rock, however, as the tradition of the party permits, National leader of the party Senator Bola Tinubu who is in control of most of the south-western state will want to drag the state to ensure that he install his loyalist to further consolidate his powers in the region.
Recall that Tinubu’s political fortune began to dwindle after he was unable to install his loyalist as Kogi and Ondo governor, so, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti and other states will be his next experiment.
Mr. Dimeji Bankole, a former house of representative speaker is one of the leading candidate according to the Information made available to WAILERSNG, he is a PDP member but likely to contest under the newly formed Mega Party, Action Democratic Party ADP, his father Chief Alani Bankole is reportedly the south west coordinator for the new party, clinching his guber ticket may be easier than when he will have to dig it with others in PDP.
Mr. Ladi Adebutu, the son of lotto businessman, Chief Adebutu Keshinton is also reported to be one of the key aspirant for Ogun top job, he is a PDP member but the faction he belongs to is unclear unlike Senator Buruji Kashamu alias Esho Jinadu who is in Sheriff’s faction.
Senator Adeola Yayi who is from Yewa Awori, a minority group in Ogun State, his people has never been elected as governor since the creation of Ogun State, this sentiment seems to be working for him but politics is a game of numbers, majority can always swing it their way anytime and every time.
Senator Adeola as widely speculated to be a candidate of Bola Tinubu but seems their is a cold war between the trio Amosun vs Yayi and Tinubu.
What many await to see is how Tinubu will outsmart Amosun in his state to snatch APC ticket in favor of Adeola Yayi is what still remains elusive.
Again, there are other strong candidates that are likely to emerge from other political parties.
